Do you need to visualize an audio waveform in your After Effects project? Yes, a screenshot from your favorite audio software is done in a few seconds, but as soon as you try to scale that image, change colors or add an outline, you notice that this approach is very limited.
In this tutorial I show you a better approach to create waveforms using a shape layer, the Convert Audio to Keyframes function of After Effects and an iExpression. Since the expression creates a normal shape layer path, you get a clean vector shape that you can scale and style however you want.
